Modern Luxury
This renovation concept was developed for a single family home on Chicago’s North Shore. The house belongs to a couple working in creative fields, and the goal was to design a space that is calm and expressive at once.
Luxury today can show up in quieter ways. For us, it often comes down to how well something is made. The precision of millwork, the way materials meet, the small details that only reveal themselves when you live with a space.
This project was an opportunity to explore that idea. We focused on custom cabinetry with integrated pulls, letting the craftsmanship speak for itself rather than adding extra ornament.
In the bathroom we wanted the space to feel calm and almost monastic, but still inviting. The architecture stays simple while the red marble becomes the focal point, grounding the room and adding character. Everything is tactile and natural. Light moves softly across the surfaces, changing the mood throughout the day.
The shapes throughout the space are clean and modern, but the materials carry a sense of history. Stone, wood, and metal soften the geometry and give the interiors warmth.
