Nestled in the historic Lakeview neighborhood of Chicago, this 1890s building has undergone a meticulous transformation.
Our comprehensive renovation peeled back layers to reintroduce the building’s original charm in a new light, respecting its historical essence while infusing modern sensibilities.
In a thoughtful homage to the era, we selected materials that echo the building’s timeless elegance. The use of oak and natural brass throughout provides a soft, understated luxury, while strategic touches of black metal add a modern contrast that anchors the design.
Our commitment to craftsmanship is evident in the elaborate trim work, meticulously crafted to mirror the original detailing, yet reinterpreted through a modern lens.
The heart of the home – the kitchen, was once tucked away near a rear staircase, a relic of a bygone era’s layout. We reimagined this space by relocating it to the center of the home, adjacent to the living room.
This bold move enhanced the flow and transformed the kitchen into a central gathering space, reflecting contemporary lifestyles while maintaining a dialogue with the home’s architectural heritage.
Where the old kitchen once stood, we’ve introduced a functional pantry and mudroom. This new area has been expanded in flow and square footage, dramatically increasing its utility and ease of use, making it an integral part of the home’s new layout.
Adding a touch of sophistication and practicality, a stylish bar now graces the living room. This new addition serves as a focal point for entertainment and also provides ample storage.
Rich blue hues set a moody tone in this guest bathroom, creating an inviting, intimate atmosphere. Unique 3D tiles add texture and depth, making the compact space feel layered and dynamic.
This kids’ bathroom combines timeless design with playful touches. Classic black-and-white floor tiles and a deep green vanity for a space that will grow with its young owners. Brass accents and an arched mirror add a touch of elegance, creating a fun and refined look.
